Construction underway <\/span>at Claypits<\/h1>\n

– Status Update late 2019<\/h1>\n

After three years of planning (and another five or six in background), at last work has started on our first 23 affordable homes. It has taken 65 ECLT board meetings (we are all volunteers) and \u00a385,000 of grants from various sources to make it this far.<\/p>\n

We are now dependent on EG Carter of Gloucester, building to ECLT\u2019s designs for our Housing Association Partners, Aster Homes. The bulk of the \u00a34 million project cost comes from Homes England, an agency of the Home Office.<\/p>\n

\"\"Whilst the scale of the machines being used is impressive, at this early stage it is difficult to make out what the site will eventually become.<\/p>\n

A lot of this is because the first installations are underground pipes (water supply, storm water drainage and foul drainage), manholes, and telephone and electrical ducting.<\/p>\n

It will be around Easter 2020 before the first brick walls sprout up.<\/p>\n

\"\"The spine road will soon be following – quite vital as a protection to the underground mains (water and fibre cables) that pass under the site to link regional supply networks.<\/p>\n

Delivery will be around the end of 2020, dependant on the vagiaries of the weather, of course.<\/p>\n
