Official Golden Spade Ceremony May 22nd 2025
The traditional “digging of the first sod” ceremony was postponed for better weather!
Using ECLT’s unique Golden Spade, which symbolises everyone lending a hand, senior people from all stakeholders gathered to commemorate this £7 million joint endeavour.
Holding the handle, (L to R) Terri Hibberd (Two Rivers, Project Manager), Cllr Lynne Farnden (ECLT Trustee and Parish Council), Hayley Selway (Two Rivers CEO), Cllr Muriel Bullock (ECLT Vice Chair and Parish Council Chair), Martin Elliott (ECLT Trustee), Tom Low (ECLT Treasurer).
Also present were representatives of GP Thomas (builders), Home England (main financial backer), and Stroud DC (Councillors and Officers).
