Q10. What about ‘Right to Buy’?

The ‘Right to Buy’ legislation does give most tenants of ‘social’ housing the right to buy their rented homes after a given amount of time.

However, the ECLT houses at Fullers Close fall outside of this legislation because

1.  The land belongs to ECLT in perpetuity
2.  Stroud Local Plan policy HC4 (Exception Sites)  states that the affordable homes on exception sites must always be affordable.
3. The ‘Section 106’ includes specific clauses to ensure these 23 homes will be for affordable rent only, in perpetuity.

Project 2 houses will be similarly constrained.
